Having a June wedding is always a roll of the dice when it comes to weather. You hope that the temperature and humidity won’t be crushing. You ask the weather gods to hold off on the rain, too. I know this all too well as my wedding was on June 7, 2008 — between the tornado warnings the night before and the rain the day of, we found ourselves with a backyard wedding with no backup plan. Whenever I learn that my clients are hosting an outdoor wedding with no weather contingency plan, I smile. I remember my own leap of faith that everything will work out for the best because there is nothing quite like wanting an outdoor wedding and having that dream become a reality.
Natalie and Jordan’s June wedding in Champaign, Illinois was simply exquisite. From the clear tent and communal farm tables to dreamy linens and gorgeous flowers, her parent’s backyard was truly transformed into a splendid celebration. Natalie’s Austin Scarlett couture wedding gown had the most delicate layers and details. And the weather was impeccable for the weeks that proceeded and the weeks that followed. They were able to delight in their wonderfully curated wedding without fear of the weather being an unwanted guest.
